Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) at RVCE was established in the year 2000. The department offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) programme through autonomous scheme and M.Tech. Programmes in Software Engineering and Information Technology which has been granted autonomous status from the year 2016. The ISE UG and M. About the Department

The Department of Information Science and Engineering has 22 faculty with 8 Doctorates and 13 persuing Ph.D. in reputed universities. The department maintains the faculty-student ratio of 1:14. It hosts faculty who are involved in supporting funded research and consultancy projects apart from training the students in academics. Department houses facility for conducting QEEE classes which is an initiative from MHRD.
The Department also has a reputed research center recognized by VTU. Well qualified and eminent faculty members are guiding Ph.D. scholars in advanced areas of Information Sciences. The research center is actively involved in current areas of information technology presenting papers at conferences which are widely published in international and national journals and conferences thereby producing research outputs of international standards. Several patents have been filed by the Department faculty/scholars. Faculty members of the department have executed many research projects supported by NRB, General Motors (R&D), DRDO, AICTE, Armament Research Board, Naval Research Board, UGC, GE (R&D), Technological Development for Indian Languages (TDIL) and others. The Industry incubation center has been set up in the department to train potential entrepreneurs. Regular technical talks and seminars/workshops are being conducted for both faculty and students.
The department has Memorandum of Understanding with Companies like Samsung, EMC2, Infosys, Sparx Systems India, TE Connectivity India Pvt Ltd., SAP Labs, GCSRT, Silfra Tech Pvt. Ltd etc. The faculty members are associated with Professional bodies such as CSI, ISACA and IEEE. The industry relationship helps us frame the course curriculum in accordance with industry expectations and standards. The companies like MINDTREE, SPARX and EMC2 have setup laboratories in the department. Department publishes a newsletter by name INFOBEE, which showcase the activities on the department along with achievements of students and faculty.
The Department has an excellent placement track record with companies like Yahoo, Microsoft, PayPal, Intel, Flipkart, Amazon, Cisco, Oracle, Google, Facebook, Helpchat, UrbanLadder, etc. Internship opportunities are provided for final year and pre-final year students to carry out projects. The department has a prestigious alumni list who are entrepreneurs, have scored very high ranks in public service examinations and CAT exams, Secured admission in prestigious institutes of higher studies, as well as holding senior positions in reputed Private, Government and multinational corporations. A large number of alumni are pursuing higher studies/research in India as well as abroad in reputed universities like Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Technological University, Arizona State University and University of Southern California.
