BMS College of Engineering has two campuses located in Bangalore for direct admissions. BMSCE located in the heart of the Basavanagudi, Bangalore city is the first campus founded in the year 1950 s and is also known as BMSCE or BMS College of Engineering. This campus is autonomous institute under VTU UNIVERSITY. BMS Institute of technology also known as BMSIT is the second campus of BMS Engineering College located in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. This campus was established in the year 1980 s after the huge success of the first campus so that more students can get a chance to study at BMS engineering college.

Both of the colleges are under the same trust and are well known private engineering colleges in Bangalore, Karnataka.
BMS College of Engineering has more than 11 departments for Undergraduate students looking to study engineering programs in BMS College Bangalore. BMS College of Engineering has also Postgraduate programs for M.Tech courses for almost all branches of engineering.

(Karnataka Common Entrance Test (K-CET)

The Government of Karnataka established Common Entrance Test Cell in the year 1994 for conducting of Entrance Test and determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants to the First year or First semester of full time professional courses for Government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy, Engineering / Architecture courses, Farm science i.e, B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Sericulture), B.Sc (Horticulture), B.Sc(Forestry), B.Sc. Agri Bio Tech, BHSc.(Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.FSc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Agri. Marketing & Co-Op), B-Pharma, Pharma-D courses.
Admission to Government seats shall be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006 (in short Rules) as amended from time to time.
To expand the activities of the CET Cell, the Government by order No. ED. 212 TEC 2006 dated 20-12-2006 has converted the Common Entrance Test Cell into an autonomous body registered under Societies Registration Act 1960 called "Karnataka Examinations Authority" (KEA).

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK)
COMEDK is the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka an autonomous institution consisting of senior academicians and reputed administrative officers who have been associated in educational eco system. This autonomous COMEDK was entrusted the responsibility to organize testing procedures to determine the merit of aspiring students in an effective, fair, transparent and non-exploitative procedure by KPCF (Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Medical & Dental) and KUPECA (Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association).

By this, COMEDK has been serving 16 Medical, 24 Dental and around 190 Engineering Colleges. COMEDK since its inception in 2004-05 has been conducting the annual entrance exam for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the member institutions and has also been organizing single window centralized counselling process over the last 15 years.
In all these years, the efforts of COMEDK have been appreciated by all the Government appointed Admission Overseeing Committees and also been mentioned by the Hon ble Supreme Court as the model examination.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates from all over the country can appear for the UGET 2023 entrance examination. The eligibility criterion for various programs has been as published by COMEDK in its Notification dated 29.11.2018 and 11.01.2019 on its website www.comedk.org which is reproduced as under:-

1.For UG Engineering Courses
The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.
Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN will be conducted by the NTA from 2023 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018

JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
