Application Procedure For JEE (Main) 2024

Applying Online and Submission of Application

Step 1: Registration Process

Candidate needs to select any one of the following to register for JEE (Main):

  • To log in/create a Digi locker account through the NAD portal. Or;
  • To log in/create an Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID) through the ABC ID. Or;
  • To log in using an Indian Indian Passport Number. Or;
  • To log in using a Non-Indian Passport Number. Or;
  • To log in using a PAN Card Number. Or;
  • To log in using an Aadhaar Enrollment Number.

The candidates are advised to register through Digi Locker/ABC ID.

Those candidates who do not wish to register through the Digi Locker / ABC ID, need to report early (one hour prior to the entry time) at the examination Centre on the day of the examination.

Candidate needs to select options for Authentication at the Examination Centre.

  • Authenticate through an Aadhaar Card
  • Authenticate through Valid Government ID with a Photograph

Step 2: Fill out the Application Form

Login to your account using your registered email address and password. Fill out the JEE (Main) application form carefully. Enter your personal information, academic qualifications, and contact details. Upload scanned copies of your required documents, such as passport size photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).

Upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph, Signature, and Category Certificate (if applicable), and PwD Certificate (wherever applicable):

  1. The recent photograph should be either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without ask) visible including ears against a white background.
  2. Scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible).
  3. The size of the scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
  4. The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible)
  5. The size of the scanned copy of the PwD certificate should be in pdf between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible)

Step 3: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the application fee online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking or UPI. The application fee for JEE (Main) 2023 is as follows:

Male candidates of Unreserved/ EWS/OBC category For Centres in India - INR 1,000
For Centres Outside India - INR 5,000
Female candidates in the Unreserved/EWS/OBC category For Centres in India - INR 800
For Centres Outside India - 4,000
SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates For Centres in India - INR 500
For Centres Outside India - 2,500

Processing charges and Goods & Service Taxes (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.

Download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page of the Application Form (which would be downloadable only after the successful remittance of the fee) for future reference.

The submission of the Application of a candidate could be considered successful and his/her candidature would be confirmed only on the successful transaction/receipt of the prescribed application fee from him/her.

All candidates must ensure that they have provided the correct e-mail address and mobile number. A copy of the Confirmation Page and Final Score Card of JEE (Main) 2024 will also be sent to the registered e-mail address of the Candidate as well as the Parent/Guardian.

Candidates are requested to fill in the Application Form carefully. No corrections will be permitted once the Application Form is submitted.

Note: Multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted and will lead to the cancellation of his/her result.
