Q. 29. A wooden article was made by scooping out a hemisphere from each end of a solid cylinder. If the height of the cylinder is 20 cm and radius of the base is 3.5 cm, find the total surface area of the article.

Sol. Total surface area of the article.

Q. 30. A bucket of height 16 cm is made up of metal sheet in the form of frustum of a right circular cone with radii of its lower and upper ends as 8 cm and 20 cm respectively. Find the volume of milk which can be filled in the bucket. Also find the cost of making the bucket when themetal sheet costs Rs. 15 per 100 cm2. (Use π = 3.14  6).

Sol.

Here, Lower radius, r = 8 cm
Upper radius, R = 20 cm
