Hundreds of students who are planning to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Advanced), conducted by the CBSE, and the entrance exam for admission to the MBBS courses in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, are in a fix as both examinations fall on the same date - June 2.

Around 1.5 lakh students are eligible for the JEE (Advanced) exam in India. This is after they cleared the JEE (Main) on April 7. Among these students, a good majority are also desirous of appearing for the entrance exam conducted by the JIPMER, a central institution.

With both exams falling on the same date, parents of students have requested JIPMER to postpone its entrance exam since CBSE had announced its examination schedule in February itself.

We request JIPMER authorities to postpone the examination to another date as hundreds of students like me, who want to take both the exams, do not want to lose their chance, said Abhi S Kumar, who completed his studies from St Marys HSS, Pattom, here.
