Students who appeared for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 compartment examinations 2025 are keenly awaiting their results, which are anticipated to be released in the first week of August 2025. While an official date from the board is still awaited, historical trends suggest a declaration between August 1 and August 5.
The CBSE conducted the Class 12 supplementary examinations on July 15, 2025, providing a crucial second chance for students who could not clear one or more subjects in the main board exams held earlier this year.
Once declared, students will be able to access their provisional mark sheets on the official CBSE results websites: cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. To check their results, candidates will need to input their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and security pin, as provided on their admit cards.
It is important for students to download and save a digital copy of their result for immediate reference, as the original mark sheets will be subsequently issued by their respective schools.
The board’s swift evaluation process aims to facilitate timely admissions for eligible students into higher education institutions, with many universities extending their admission windows for compartment candidates. This year’s Class 12 main exams saw over 16.9 lakh students appear, with a passing percentage of approximately 88.39%. For the compartment exams, a significant number of students, around 1.29 lakh, were eligible.
This year also marks the implementation of a ’Relative Grading’ system for the 2024-25 academic session, a change aimed at reducing academic stress and promoting a more flexible evaluation approach. The new system grades students in comparison to their peers, allowing grade boundaries to vary based on subject performance and the overall number of passing candidates.
