Revised Post-Result Procedures
Ahead of the result announcement, CBSE introduced a significant change in its post-result processes for Class 12 students. Students can now access photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for marks verification or re-evaluation. This change aims to help students make informed decisions about challenging their results. The board will release detailed guidelines and schedules for revaluation and verification soon. The applicable fees include:
Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Book: ₹700 per subject
Revaluation: To be announced
Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-evaluation, and those failing in one or two subjects will have the opportunity to appear for supplementary exams in July 2025.
Examination and Result Context
The CBSE Class 12 examinations for 2025 were held from February 15 to April 4, conducted in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily. Over 42 lakh students, including both Class 10 and 12, appeared for the CBSE board exams this year. The Class 12 results were initially expected to be delayed due to external factors, such as the reported “Operation Sindoor” involving Indian forces’ strikes on terror targets in Pakistan. However, CBSE clarified that no such delay occurred, and the results were released as anticipated.
The board also debunked fake circulars and unverified social media claims about result dates, urging students to rely only on official sources like cbse.gov.in and CBSE’s social media handles. A fake letter circulating on social media was explicitly called out by CBSE as fraudulent.
Performance Trends and Support for Students
The 2025 results continue CBSE’s trend of incremental improvements in pass percentages. In 2024, the Class 12 pass percentage was 87.98%, with girls at 91.52% and boys at 85.12%. This year’s data reinforces the consistent outperformance by female students.
To support students dealing with result-related anxiety, CBSE has activated a toll-free tele-counseling helpline at 1800-11-8004, accessible from anywhere in India. Additionally, a “Counselling” link on cbse.gov.in provides resources and tips for students and parents.
What’s Next for Students?
With the results now declared, students can collect their official mark sheets and passing certificates from their respective schools in the coming weeks. The digital mark sheets available on DigiLocker and UMANG are temporary but valid for immediate use. Students planning to apply for higher education or competitive exams like JEE, NEET, or CUET can use these digital documents for initial registrations.
CBSE has also advised students to stay calm and avoid falling for unverified claims about region-wise result announcements, as results are released uniformly across the country.
Official Statements and Future Updates
The CBSE announced the results through a press release, with officials noting the board’s commitment to transparency and student welfare. “The slight increase in pass percentage reflects the hard work of students and teachers, despite challenging circumstances,” a CBSE spokesperson said. The board may hold a press conference to share additional details, including region-wise performance and subject-specific trends.
Students are encouraged to stay tuned to official CBSE platforms for updates on supplementary exams, revaluation schedules, and other post-result processes. For the latest information, visit cbse.gov.in or follow CBSE’s official social media accounts.
Congratulations to all CBSE Class 12 students on their results! Stay informed, and best wishes for your future endeavors.
