The Kerala School Teachers Association (KSTA) will stage a Picket in all the district quarters in protest against the governments decision to provide NOC to 650 CBSE schools in the state on Tuesday. KSTA general secretary M Shajahan said that with the State Governments decision, the number of CBSE schools in the state will be 1,500. When the new admissions at the government and aided schools are dwindling, the government decision will result in closing down the existing government schools. Classrooms which can accommodate around 10 lakh students are lying vacant in general education schools. There are also around 10,000 teachers who are on the threat of losing their jobs, he said. Within the last two years, the uneconomic schools in the state have rose to 4,600 from 3,300.

The governments decision will cause hindrance to the schools which are on an attempt to increase the admission of students. If the decision to provide NOC to CBSE schools are not withdrawn, more stringent agitations will be organised by the KSTA, he said.
