The Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed Sikh aspirants to wear kara and Kirpan in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-UG.
A bench of Justice S. Ravindra Bhat and Justice A.K. Chawla told the CBSE that the Sikh candidates will have to report an hour prior to the normal reporting time for the screening and other security matters.
The court order came on a plea by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee who argued that Sikh students cannot be barred from carrying traditional attire in the examination hall.
The NEET-UG 2018 exam is going to be held on 6th May, 2018. NEET-UG is conducted by CBSE for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in various cities across the country.
