CBSE Takes Measures to Ensure Fair and Transparent Examinations
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is taking significant steps to enhance the fairness and transparency of school examinations. To address concerns about inconsistencies in internal assessments, the CBSE plans to develop a comprehensive framework in collaboration with the British Council. This framework will cover classes 6 to 12 and will be aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE).
To prevent disruptions during board exams, the CBSE is also considering the implementation of CCTV surveillance in examination rooms. This measure aims to deter cheating and ensure a level playing field for all students. A committee will be formed to assess the infrastructure requirements and determine the feasibility of this initiative.
In addition to these measures, the CBSE will conduct capacity-building workshops for school leaders and coordinators. These workshops will focus on ensuring consistency, transparency, and fairness in internal assessment practices. The goal is to mitigate issues such as inequity in educational outcomes and student disengagement.
The CBSE’s efforts to improve the quality and fairness of examinations reflect its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for students. By implementing these measures, the CBSE aims to enhance the credibility of its assessments and ensure that students are evaluated fairly and accurately.
