The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a circular asking the evaluators to give grant marks to Class 12 students for a tricky question in Mathematics paper.

The corrigendum released by the CBSE Board on March 30, directed the evaluators to follow a separate marking scheme for question 29 of set 1 and 2, and question 27 of set 3.

The controller of examination Sanyam Bharadwaj said, “The question number 29 does not have a technical issue but the question can be interpreted in two ways. So the board decided to give marks to the students any way they answer.”

Many teachers believe that the question was straight-forward and couldn’t confuse any student.

The circular was handed over to the evaluators on the second day of the evaluation process while mostly such notices are given to teachers, evaluators on the first day to keep similar marking scheme. Teachers are of the opinion that the benefit might not reach all students as the notice was delayed.
