The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified in a communication to schools about to distribution of NCERT textbooks and other stationery items that they are free to open small outlets or tuck shops in their premises. But they cannot sell any private publishers book.
Parents are free to buy textbooks and other stationery items from either the shop in school premises or vendors outside.
