Schools which are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education have missed the July 17 deadline, given by the Board, to upload details about the school infrastructure, transport facilities, number of buses, fee structure, management members, teachers� qualifications and their salary on websites.
The move was aimed at making the functioning of CBSE schools more transparent and to enable parents to take �informed decisions� while seeking admissions for their wards.
Some schools uploaded all other details on their websites except the fee structure and teachers� salaries.
Though the websites of CBSE schools have the link with regard to fee structure and faculty, they only display, �the web page is under construction� or �the details will be uploaded shortly.�
The CBSE took serious view of the issue and threatened to stop registration of Class IX and X students for final exams this year, if the schools fail to comply with the norms immediately.
The CBSE had on June 17 sent a circular to all its schools stating, �It has come to the notice of the Board that some of the schools have not yet developed their websites and have not uploaded the required information.�
�The defaulter schools will not be able to register their candidates for the Board examination.� it said.
