KochiSahodaya Schools complex will organize a two-day training workshop for city CBSE school principals as part of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) programme.

"The programme would focus on developing the competency standards of teachers in CCE and school-based assessment," said KochiSahodaya Schools complex president Susan Varghese. The training programme will start on Saturday and will be conducted in two batches.

The programme comes amidst the CBSE board’s emphasis on conducting workshops for principals and teachers throughout the country to strengthen the implementation of CCE scheme in its true spirit.

"In view of ensuring the right of children to free and compulsory education and various educational reforms initiated by the board over the years, continuous empowerment of heads of schools and teachers has become imperative," stated a CBSE circular to school principals.

Apart from CCE training, the programme will focus on capacity building, including life skills, health and well-being education, speaking, listening and leadership skills and training on environment-related issues. Effective school management and leadership training are also part of the programme.

CBSE has shortlisted five to six agencies to train principals and teachers. Schools can choose any agency and the programme they would like to undertake during this academic year.

"Such training programmes are essential. Once we are trained on CCE, we can effectively implement the same at our schools," said Chinmaya Vidyalaya principal Maya Mohan.
