Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) published a circular regarding making appropriate arrangement in the fee structure for CBSE affiliated schools. CBSE published this circular on September 29, 2016. The board is planning to fix fee structure which has been heard from parents of students as well. Board is planning to make fee structure based on available facilities in schools. Schools are allowed to set up the school fee structure according to their own will; CBSE is taking a move towards creating a balance into fee structure. More than half a dozen officials of schools are appearing in news for fleecing parents for extra fee, annual fee and other indiscriminate charges. However this move taken by CBSE will be helpful for the parents, especially for the parents of students studying in CBSE affiliated school in Kashmir. All the CBSE affiliated schools have to update information about their current fee structure running in school in the form available on the official website of CBSE; it is mentioned in the circular issued by CBSE. Schools have to update every details related to fee in the form. Schools have to update audited sheet details (faculty, students, location and Infrastructure) including every academic session details.
Earlier schools were asked to fill the online form by the end of October 2016 but now CBSE has extended the date. Schools are allowed to fill it up to November 30, 2016.
