The Central Board of Secondary Education has revised the curriculum for the entrepreneurship elective for this academic year in keeping with changing market trends.

A release from the board has said that in the current climate of economic changes, influenced by explosive knowledge creation and exponential technology growth, the need to modify and infuse changes is a necessary step to upgrade and update the existing entrepreneurship curriculum.

"It is even more required so as to bring it on a par in rigour and content with other academic disciplines based on competency skills," said Sadhana Parashar, CBSE director of academics, research, training and innovation, in a letter to principals of affiliated schools across the country.

The revised edition of the curriculum incorporates new chapters that introduce students to market dynamics and encourages them to spend more time on project work. The revision aims at providing more background information, case studies, activities and new templates to help the students get a better understanding of concepts introduced in Class 12.

The board has said that the revised text will be uploaded at http://www.cbseacademic.in/ and its hard copy in the form of a book will be available within seven working days. The revised book for Class 12 will be made available from March 2014.
