The State Cabinet has given its nod for the selection of students to MBBS/BDS course through the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from next year.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister today at his Secretariat has also decided to apprise the matter to the CBSE.
According to Education and CAF &PD Minister, M Okendro, who is also spokesperson of the Govt, the State Cabinet meeting today deliberated on ways and means for devolution of power to Autonomous District Councils (ADCs).
The Cabinet decided to devolve a de facto power to the ADCs within this month after a detailed discussion.
The Minister said that the Cabinet meeting decided that selection of State nominees for MBBS/BDS courses would be done through AIPMT/PDET conducted by CBSE for the session 2014-15 .
This year selection of State nominees was done through NEET conducted by CBSE.
As per the final decision of the Supreme Court, the CBSE has announced the date for conducting AIPMT exam for the session 2014-15.The States were instructed to give their response to the CBSE before Nov 15.
However, for the State, the Health Services Director has communicated to the CBSE to extend the last date for at least a week (till Nov 22), the Spokesperson said.
