Cell - Structure And Functions

Cell - Structure And Functions - Chapter Wise CBSE Solved Question and Answer Based On NCERT

Points To Remember:

  • Cell is the building blocks of our life. Every living organism is made up of cells.
  • Cells were first discovered by Robert Hooke through simple magnifying device. Presently, due to presence of high power microscope, study of cell and its component become easy task.
  • Cells consist of different shapes and size, and vary in number depending on the organism. Unicellular organism consists of single cell, whereas, multicellular organisms contain number of cells. However, the cell of unicellular performs similar function as multicellular organism.
  • There are three basic component of cell: Plasma membrane, Nucleus, and Cytoplasm. Plasma membrane provides shape to cell and helps in transfer of substance between inside and outside of cell. It surrounds the cytoplasm which is jelly-like substance. Cytoplasm contains various cell Organelles. Nucleus controls the activity of cell. It carry chromosome which is responsible for transfer of character from parents to offspring.
  • There are two laws of reflection: the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection and incident rays, reflected rays and normal rays drawn at the point of incidence to the reflecting surface lies in the same plane
  • Plant cell differ with animal cell in some aspect. Plant cell contain coloured plastids which is absent in animal cell. There is only single large sized vacuoles present in plant cell whereas in animal it is numerous and smaller.
