AILET 2024

Eligibility: The National Law University Delhi, established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 of Delhi is a premier Law University in the capital city of India. The University invites online applications for admission to B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes for the Academic Year 2024-25.

B.A.LL.B.(HONS.) - FIVE-YEAR PROGRAMME:


Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination with 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities). Candidates appearing for the 12th standard annual examination in 2024 are eligible to apply.

Total Seats: 110+10 (110 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO are exempted from AILET but should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

Additional Supernumerary Seats: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants and two seats for residents of Jammu & Kashmir.


LL.M. - ONE YEAR PROGRAMME:

Eligibility: LL.B. or an equivalent law degree with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). Candidates appearing for the final year LL.B. annual examination in 2024 are eligible to apply.

Total Seats: 70+10 (70 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO are exempted from AILET.

Ph.D. PROGRAMME:

Ph.D. in Law

Eligibility: LL.M. or an equivalent law degree with 55% marks (50% SC/ST/OBCs non-creamy layer/ Differently Abled/Economically Weaker Section) Total Seats: 25+2 (UGC-JRF: 5 seats, AILET Merit -16 seats, Fellowship through AILET Merit -4 seats and Foreign Nationals-2 Seats).

Ph.D. in Social Sciences viz., Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, Economics and English.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in relevant Social Sciences or humanities with 55% marks (50% SC/ST/OBCs noncreamy layer/ Differently Abled/Economically Weaker Section). Total Seats: 4 (UGC JRF, AILET, Foreign Nationals, Fellowships). UGC-JRF candidates and Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. The University will follow the reservation policy as the UGC Regulations.

Additional Supernumerary Seats: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants.

Application Procedure: Onlline Application Fee: Interested candidates should apply online on payment of application fee of Rs.3500/-(Rupees Three Thousand Five hundred Only). Application fee in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is Rs.1500/-(Rupees One thousand Five Hundred Only). Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST category are exempted from application fee.

Candidates have to uploading the photographs & signatures while submitting online application form:

(i.) The candidate should upload his/her recent colour passport size photograph with white background & size as specified (i.e. 1 MB).
(ii.) Passport size photograph should not have cap, goggles etc. (Spectacles are allowed). The face of the candidate should cover about 75% of the photograph. The photograph must clearly show the face of the candidate in the preview box/page.
(iii.) Image and scanned signatures should be in .jpg/.jpeg format only.
(iv.) The candidate should also upload his/ her scanned signature on white paper with maximum size of 1 MB.
(v.) Candidate signature should be clear and without overwriting on a white paper with Black/Blue pen within a box of 6*3cms (width*height) and clearly visible in the preview box/ page.
The candidate should keep two identical photographs with him/ her, in reserve, which may be used for pasting on the Admit Card at the time of Entrance Test/ Counselling/ Admission if required.

Examination Center: AILET-2024 will be conducted at the following cities: Bengaluru, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Shimla, Siliguri, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.

In case the number of the candidates at any test city is less than 100, the test centre will not be created in that city and candidate will be allotted test city as per their 2 nd/3rd preference of test city.

Additional Information: The AILET 2024 will be conducted in Offline i.e. Pen & Paper (OMR sheet based) mode. There will be negative marking in the AILET 2024 in MCQ Sections only. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer, 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of one (1) Mark.
