12th All India Competitive Examination for Admissions to Masters Degree Programmes in the Field of Agriculture, Veterinary And Allied Sciences for the Academic Session 2007-2008 and Award of J.R.F.

Eligibility: Candidates having passed their Bachelors Degree (or appearing in final year examination during the year 2007), in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic, and Allied Sciences under 10+2+4 (most seats) or 10+2+3 (only few seats) are eligible to apply for the combined examination for JRF and admission to Master�s Degree Programme as per norms of participating Universities. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks or its equivalent OGPA for general category and 55% marks or its equivalent OGPA for SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and under-privileged states category. For admission in the subject of Veterinary Sciences, candidates must have completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the University or December 31, 2007 which so ever is earlier. He/ she should be an Indian National and should be completing minimum 19 year of age as on 31.8.2007. The candidate who are likely to appear in the Bachelor�s Degree Examination in the year 2007 are also eligible to apply provisionally for admission test, but they will have to submit documentary evidence from the Registrar of the University of their having acquired eligibility on the date of Counseling. Non-submission of documentary evidence of the completion of the Degree and attaining eligibility by due date will disqualify the candidate. Most of the participating Universities/ Institutes in this Examination require four years U.G. degree. In few Universities/ Institutes, graduates from non-agricultural stream are also eligible for admission to Master�s Degree Programme only in some of the specified subjects. For such candidates, if admitted, the duration of Master�s Degree Programme would be of 3 years at IARI and some other Universities as the 1st year will be for completing remedial courses in Agriculture and no fellowship would be paid during the first year to such candidates. For admission, the candidate has to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the concerned University even if he/she is called for counseling.

Application Procedure: Information Bulletins with Application Forms will be available for sale from 01 March, 2007 up to 03 April, 2007 and can be obtained against cash payment of Rs. 500/- + Rs. 25/- (Sale Charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories, and Rs. 250/- + Rs- 25/- (Sale Charges) for S.C., S.T.. and PH. categories from the offices of the Registrars of State Agricultural Universities, CAU Imphal and Syndicate Bank branches at (1) K.A.B. Information Bulletins with Application Forms can also be obtained by post from 01 March, 2007 up to 29 March, 2007 by sending a written request along with a Bank Draft of Rs 550/- (Rs 500/- as cost of Information Bulletin with Application Form + Rs 50/- towards postage and handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs 300/- (Rs 250/- as cost of Information Bulletin with Application Form + Rs 50/- towards postage and handling charges) for S.C., ST., and PH. candidates. The Bank Draft should be drawn in favour of "Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR" payable at New Delhi. A self-addressed envelope (Size 30" x 25") without postal stamps should be sent with an application on plain paper and the Bank Draft to "The Controller of Examination, Education Division, Room No. 226, ICAR, KAB-II, Pusa, New Delhi -110012�, The requests received for the Information Bulletins and Application Forms by post after 29 March, 2007 will not be entertained. The candidate may write the details of his/her name and address on the back of the Bank Draft. It may be checked that the Bank Draft contains the name of the issuing bank and branch, signature of the issuing authority, amount in words, date of draft etc. clearly, in no case, ICAR will be held responsible for non-receipt of the application and bank draft or delay in postage. The Information Bulletins with Application Forms may also be obtained personally from 01 March, 2007 up to 03 April, 2007 by depositing Bank Draft without postage and handling charges at the sale counter of the following Institutions. 1. The last date for the receipt of Application Forms in the office of "The Controller of Examinations, Education Division. Room No. 226, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-ll, Pusa, New Delhi � 110012 is 10 April, 2007. However, for the candidates belonging to the remote areas viz. Mizoram. Assam, Meghalays. Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul & Spiti District and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, the last date is 16 April, 2007. Application Forms received after the last date will be rejected and Education Division shall not be held responsible for non-receipt of application within the time scheduled due to Postal delay or any other reason for delay. All disputes relating to the conduct of this examination or any matter connected with this advertisement shall be in the jurisdiction of Delhi Court only.
