Kendriya Vidyalaya Zawar Mines was established in 1975 at Zawar Mines, 40 kms from the historic Lake City of Udaipur , with an objective to provide
quality education to the wards of Hindustan Zinc Limited employees which was formerly a public sector undertaking.
The Kendriya vidyalaya, with its vast network across the country and common curriculum, was chosen to provide uninterrupted education to wards of HZL
employees, who move from one branch to another, under the patronage of Sh.M.Datta , Chairman VMC and the leadership of Principal Sh.S.R.Jaiswal.
The first batch of class X appeared for AISSE of CBSE in the year 1977 while the first batch of class XII appeared for AISSCE conducted by CBSE in
1979 . The vidyalaya progressed rapidly in the succeeding years emerging as a leading institution in the cluster both in academics as well as
co-curricular activities.
Nestled in the Sylvain settings of Aravalli Ranges in pollution free surroundings, the vidyalaya provides the right environment for pursuit of
studies. The vidyalaya is currently a single section school from classes I to XII with commerce and science stream at +1 and +2 level.
There are 322 students currently enrolled in the vidyalaya with a dedicated team of 18 teachers and 7 non- teaching staff.
Under the visionary guidance, encouragement and support of the esteemed Chairman
Sh.K.C.Jain, GM, HZL, and other members of VMC the vidyalaya is marching progressively to greater heights. The dynamic leadership of Principal Mrs.
M.Agarwal has enabled vidyalaya to strive for academic excellence by bringing both quantitative and qualitative improvement in academic environment of
the school setting new milestones.
