Q. 1.  Three cubes of metal whose edges are 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm are melted and formed into a single cube. Find its edge.

Q. 2.  The length of the minute hand of a clock is 14 cm. Find the area swept by the minute hand in 5 minutes.

Q. 3.  A hemisphere bowl of internal diameter 36 cm is full of some liquid. This liquid to be filled in cylindrical bottles of radius 3 cm and height 6 cm. find the number of bottles needed to empty the bowl.

Q. 4.  Three cubes are joined end to end. Find the surface area of the resulting cuboids.

Q. 5.  How many spherical lead shots each 4.2 cm in diameter can be obtained from a rectangular solid of lead with dimensions 66 cm, 42 cm, 21 cm.

Q. 6.  Find the area of the shaded region , if the diameter of the circle with centre O is 28 cm   and AQ = 1/4  AB

Q. 7. A tent consists of a frustum of a cone, surmounted by a cone. If the diameters of the upper and lower circular ends of the frustum be 14 m and 26 respectively, the height of the frustum be 8m and the slant height of the surmounted conical portion be 12 m, find the area of the canvass required to make the tent. (Assume that the radii of the upper circular end of the frustum and the base of surmounted conical portion are equal.

Q. 8.  A toy is in the shape of a right circular cylinder with hemisphere on one end and cone on the other. The height and radius of the cylindrical part are 13 cm and 5 cm respectively. The radii of conical and spherical part are thesame as that of the cylindrical part. Calculate the surface area of the toy if the height of the conical part is 12 cm.

Q. 9.  A bucket made up of metal sheet is in the form of a frustum of cone. Its depth is 24 cm and the diameters of the top and bottom are 30 cm and 10 cm respectively. Find the cost of milk which will completely fill the bucket at the rate of Rs 20 per liter and the cost of metal sheet used if it costs Rs 10 per 100 cm2.

Q. 10.  A solid is in the form of a right circular cylinder with hemispherical ends. The total height of the solid is 58 cm and the diameter of the cylinder is 28 cm. Find the total surface area of the solid.
