INDIAN DIAMOND INSTITUTE, Surat
Recognising the "Indian Diamond Industry" as a major source of employment in a priority sector like export production with scope for substantial value-addition for the country, the establishment of the Indian Diamond Institute was conceptualised and later put into effect.
The IDI is a Society registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 and also under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.

The Institute is committed to providing Quality Services in the fields of training and consultancy and be of service to the Gem & Jewellery Industry both in India and abroad.
Objective & Mission :
The Institute shall constantly endeavour to upgrade the technology and equipment available with it to the International Standards.
The Institute shall work towards creating lasting bonds with similar institutions of International repute in order to make available to the Indian Industry with the latest techniques and capabilities available in the global market place.
The training offered by the institute shall inculcate industry orientation and the practical approach among the students so that they are of ready use to the Industry.
To fulfill its mission, IDI constantly working towards the mordenisation of its machinery, staff knowledge by way of providing them training onto latest developments and technologies to meet the needs of the trade & industry.
