Admissions to UG courses –
B.E. or B.Tech: Selection is per the scores in COMEDK. Besides, the applicant must complete 12 or an equivalent examination with Maths and Physics, with any one of the following elective subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Bio-Technology with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Moreover, you have more than 10 specializations to choose from. You can get the application form from the BMS official website. After filling it, you need to send the form together with the application fee to BMS Educational Trust, Bangalore.
Also, any exemptions to the eligibility criteria for any of the above courses is granted only to the students of Karnataka belonging to SC, ST, and OBC).
Admission criteria – Based on the ranks in COMED-K through COMEDK Counselling and KEA-CET conducted through KCET Counselling. Besides, other exams accepted are GATE, CMAT, CAT, MAT, and Karnataka PGCET

• Orientation and approach of both the courses may be different but if we closely look into the course content then they are more or less the same
• AICTE has clarified that it does not consider the two degrees as different and grants equal recognition to both
• Both the degrees have almost similar scope and future
• If there is some notification for recruitment of B.E. degree holder then B.Tech. degree holders are also eligible to apply and vice-versa
