EC Engineering is a combination of classic Electronics Engineering and Communication Engineering. This course focuses on electronics equipment, circuits and networks and their use in transmission of information.
The course deals with design, testing, manufacturing, analysis and research of electronic and communication circuits.
We all use mobile phones. Mobile phone is electronic equipment and we use it for communicating with others. Electronics and Communication Engineering is involved in the making of this device.
History:
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was founded in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College by the Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan. From its humble beginning, the institution has grown exponentially to that of having more than 35,000 students. VIT attracts students from all the 29 states of India and more than 41 different countries because of its academic excellence. University status was conferred in 2001 by MHRD Govt. of India in recognition of its excellence in academics, research and extracurricular initiatives.

VIT has also been ranked in the top 201-250 in QS BRICS Ranking in 2016 and in the top 251-300 in Times Higher Education (THE), Asia Ranking. VIT has also been acknowledged as an educational leader by BBC Knowledge in the year 2016.
VIT is very popular among the aspirants of B.Tech. Every year VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted and more than 2 Lakhs students write the entrance examination to get admission in B.Tech in VIT. VIT has a strong research culture in the campus.

Academic Facilities:
The classrooms are well designed rooms that incorporate everything needed for a pleasant learning atmosphere. The wide spacious classrooms contain a white board and also a projector that is used for teaching so a professor can switch to different modes of teaching as and when required so the teaching isn’t monotonous and the lectures are put across in the best way possible.
