Engineering is not only a career but more of as an area of expertise, which opens doors to a vast area of jobs. Engineers probably have a wider choice of the environment in which to work, and the type of job, than any other profession. The engineers today are not confined to the obvious sectors such as mechanical, chemical and electrical but have a vast scope in advanced areas such as ultrasonic, vacuum technology, as thermal engineering, polymer technology, computers, telecommunication, and many more.
There are many fields in engineering in India. Engineering has several branches, and often the knowledge in one branch can be applied to many fields. Moreover, in any organization or project, engineers from one field work with engineers and specialists of many other fields as well.
B.E. Admission
Admissions to the undergraduate courses in BMS College of Engineering will be based on the performance of the candidates in COMEDK UGET/KCET.
The students must have qualified 2nd PUC/12th Standard/equivalent qualification with English as one of the language and obtained minimum 45 % marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
Note: (i) For candidates of SC/ST/OBC, the minimum qualifying marks are 40%.
(ii) The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science / Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry, in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the pursue of determination of eligibility.
(iii) BMSCE management quota admissions are also available for B.E course.
( iv) Candidates desiring to take admission through Management quota, has to take exam CET or Comed K.
(v) There also a lateral entry in admission for Bachelor of Engineering ( 3 Years Course) for Diploma in Engineering.
B.Arch. Admission
The admission to B. Arch will be based on merit, and the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) score.
PG Courses Admission
Admissions for postgraduate courses in Engineering, and Architecture in BMS College of Engineering will be based on candidate’s performance in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or PGCET (Postgraduate Common Entrance Test). The candidates who have a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score will not be required to write PGCET.
Admission to MBA and MCA courses will be based on the candidate’s performance in KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test).
