5. Questions from serial number 19 to 28 are 4 marks questions. Answers of these questions should not exceed 100 words each. 6. Question numbers 29 and 30 are map questions. Attach the maps inside your answer book. * Disaster Management is now only for Project Work. From 2009, no questions will be asked from Disaster Management in the Question Paper.

Q. 2. What is primitive subsistence farming? 1

Ans. In this type of farming small patches of land are cleared in forested areas and cereals and other food-crops are grown with the help of primitive tools to sustain the farmer’s family.

Ans. Mineral is a homogeneous, naturally occurring substance with a definable internal structure. The minerals have identifiable physical and chemical properties.

Q. 4. What is manufacturing? 1

Ans. Production of goods in large quantities by processing raw materials to from more valuable products, is called manufacturing.

Q. 5. Why did women organise themselves in the world and start agitations? 1

Ans. Women in different parts of the world have organised themselves and are agitating for attaining equality for themselves in personal and family life, public affairs, and for enhancing their political and legal status and improving their educational and career opportunities.
