General Instructions:
1. All questions are compulsory.
2. The Question Paper consists of thirty questions divided into 4 Sections A, B, C and D. Section A comprises of ten questions of 1 mark each, Section B comprises of five questions of 2 marks each, Section C comprises of ten questions of 3 marks each and Section D comprises of five questions of 6 marks each.
3. All questions in Section A are to be answered in one word, one sentence or as per the exact requirement of the question.
4. There is no overall choice. However, internal choice has been provided in one question of 2 marks each, three questions of 3 marks each and two questions of 6 marks each. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.
5. In question on construction, drawings should be neat and exactly as per the given measurement.
6. Use of calculators is not permitted.

SECTION A

Questions number 1 to 10 carry one mark each.

Q. 1. Write the HCF of the smallest composite number and the smallest prime number.

Sol.
1. Smallest composite number is 4 = 22
Smallest prime number is 2 = 21

Q. 2. The graph of y = f (x) is given in Figure 1. What is the number of zeroes of f (x)?

Sol. The number of zeroes is 3 as the graph intersects the x-axis at three points.

Q. 3. For what value of k, are the roots of the quadratic equation 3x2 + 2kx + 27 = 0 real and equal?
