CBSE students can also apply for admissions without results in engineering

Higher Education Minister P Palaniappan on Thursday said that CBSE students can apply for engineering counselling without waiting for the results of the Plus Two examinations.
"CBSE students won’t have marksheets to apply for admission to engineering colleges since their results have not been declared. They could apply before May 20. Anna University, the coordinating body for engineering admissions, will download the results using their registration number and prepare the rank list accordingly," he said, after DMDK member L Venkatesan asked for an extension on the last date for the submission of application.

"Last year, we published the Class 12 results on May 21. This time, the education department preponed the publication of results by 13 days. Since there is a direction from the Supreme Court, we have to finish the admission process before July 31 and start classes in August. The rank list will be issued only on June 5. We hope CBSE results are declared before that," said Palaniappan.
