CBSE Class 12th Board Exam 2019: English-Core Paper Pattern Revised

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the exam pattern of class 12 English-Core paper for 2018-19 session.

According to the official notification released by CBSE, some changes in CBSE class 12 English-Core exam pattern on the basis of feedback received fom the various shareholders and meetings of the panel of Courses of the Board and subject experts.

As per Notification, the paper will consist of two passages in Section A (Reading), rather than three passages as earlier. Now the two passages will be of 800-900 words as compared to earlier. Questions typology have also been changed. Now, students will have to have to attempt 9 very short answer type questions including 3 Qs on vocabulary for 1 mark each, 5 MCQs carrying 1 mark each, 3 short answer type questions carrying 2 mark each from passage one and 2 long answer type questions carrying 5 mark each from passage two.

The total number of questions for Section A has been reduced to 19 as compared to 24 previously. Overall reduced to 35 from 40.
