CBSE class 10 results declared, girls once again outshine boys

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the results of Class 10 this morning, with 98.76 percent students clearing the exams.

This is marginally up from 98.19 percent in 2012.

The performance of girls is marginally better than boys -- a pass percentage of 98.94 percent for girls as compared to 98.64 percent for boys.

According to a CBSE statement, the pass percentage in Chennai region at 99.80 was the highest in the country.

The results in that region were declared on May 26. In total, 1,25,7893 candidates were registered for Class X examination this year, an increase of about 6.67 per cent over last year.
