CBSE Board Exam: CBSE to Change Exam Paper Pattern of Class 10th, 12th

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to change the examination pattern for class 10 and class 12 from 2020. The step has been taken as the part of the revamp that also includes vocational exams will be held in the month of February and results likely to be declared earlier.

According to the MHRD official, there will be a slight change in the examination pattern also. The question paper will be more short answer questions of 1 to 5 marks. The question paper to be on more problem-solving and critical thinking abilities of the students.

This vision will reduce the rote learning and the students will focus on the analytical abilities.

The proposal will take about three or four months for the renewal. The new exam paper pattern, once approved, would be implemented from 2020.

The board is also planning an overhaul of the CBSE bylaws. The affiliation of the school/ institution would be based on the ability of the institution to provide quality education. Board would also test the availability of quality infrastructure.
