CSIR, A brief note on the Parent Organization:

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), established in 1942, is an autonomous body and is India’s largest Research and Development (R&D) organization, with 38 laboratories and 50 field stations or extension centers spread over the length and breadth of the country. With manpower of more than 18,000, CSIR has an annual turnover in excess of INR 1500 crores. It files and owns more number of Indian patents than any other organization and its initial forays in the international knowledge market space were remarkably successful. Over the years, CSIR has contributed to many vital scientific, industrial, strategic and human resource development endeavors.
