NCERT COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE) - 2018

Eligibility: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Common Entrance Examination (CEE)- 2018 online application form submission.

Eligibility for B.Sc.B.Ed.

• Candidates seeking admission to Physical Science Group must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) and those seeking admission to Biological Science Group (CBZ) must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) (B stands for Biology or Biotechnology) at +2 level.

• Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PWD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by the affiliating universities of the RIEs.

• Candidates who have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2016, 2017 or appearing /appeared in 2018 only.

Eligibility for M.Sc.Ed.

• Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Ed. (Physics/ Chemistry /Mathematics) must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) at +2 level.

• Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PWD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by the affiliating university of RIE Mysuru (University of Mysuru).

• Candidates who have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2015, 2016 or appearing /appeared in 2018 only will be considered.

Eligibility for B.A.B.Ed.
• Candidates must have passed +2/ Hr. Secondary/ Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in Science and Commerce streams or in Arts streams with at least 50% marks in aggregate (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PH candidates) in 2016, 2017 or appearing /appeared in 2018.

Eligibility for B.Ed.
• Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science or Mathematics or in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PWD candidates).

• Candidates who have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2016, 2017 or appearing /appeared in 2018 only.

Eligibility for M. Ed.
• Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. Programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PWD Candidates) in the following programmes / courses from any University / College / Institute recognized by affiliating universities:

1. B.Ed.

2. B.A.B.Ed./B.A.Ed./, B.Sc.B.Ed. /B.Sc.Ed.

3. B.El.Ed.

4. D.El.Ed. with a Bachelors degree in Arts/Science (With 50% marks in each)

Eligibility for B.Ed- M. Ed (Integrated)

• A post graduate degree in science / social science/ humanity from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55%marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)

Courses Offered: 1. The following courses offered by the Regional Institutes of Education located at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru, and Shillong.

a.) B.Sc.B.Ed. (Four Year Integrated),
b.) B.A.B.Ed. (Four Year Integrated),
c.) M.Sc.Ed. (Six Year Integrated),
d.) B.Ed. (Two Year) and
e.) M.Ed. (Two Year)
f.) B.Ed-M.Ed. (Three Year integrated)

Syllabus: Syllabus for CEE-2018

1. Separate Questions will be administered for the following groups:

Group-A
a. B.Sc. B.Ed./ B.A.B.Ed./ M.Sc.Ed.

Group-B
a. B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed.(Integrated)

Group-C
a. M.Ed.

2. Level of question paper will be as given below:
a. Group-A - The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing higher secondary/senior secondary education

b. Group-B - The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation

c. Group-C - The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation and professional education level

3. For all the groups, areas to be tested are

* Language Proficiency

* Teaching Aptitude/Attitude

* Reasoning Ability.

4. No. of test items-80, Time Duration-120 minutes.

5. Out of 80 questions, Language Proficiency in English 20 questions, Teaching Aptitude/Attitude 30 questions and Reasoning Ability 30 questions.

6. Medium of Test Booklets – only in English and Hindi (except for language proficiency)

7. Only one set of booklet will be given for each group.

8. Correct answer(s) will carry 2 marks each, Wrong answer(s) will carry negative marking of (minus) -0.5 marks each and Question(s) unattended will carry no marks.

Syllabus

* Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles.

* Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education.

* Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships.

Application Procedure: Steps To be followed

• Registration: register yourself by following the link “Registration Form” in the CEE-2018 website at www.ncert-cee.kar.nic.in. The last date for registration is 9th May 2018. For the Registration you need a valid e-mail id & mobile number (Important-Please do not change your sim card/mobile number till the completion of the admission process).

• User Credentials: after you complete the registration you will be send a onetime password/user credentials to the registered mobile.

• Login: Login to the CEE-2018 website at www.ncert-cee.kar.nic.in using user name/e-mail id and the password sent to your mobile

• Registration Number: On login you will be able to see your registration number and user name on the top right hand corner.

• Applicant’s Index Page: On login you will see the applicant’s Index Page. Please read the instructions given there carefully and click Next

• Applicants Basic Details Page: This will take you to the applicant’s basic details page. Please fill the details here. If you are Person with Disability (PWD) remember to choose the category, if you are applying for Prarambh select the category, if you are from Hyderabad Karnataka remember to select the same. NTSE awardee should mention the year of passing. Then click Save & Next.

• Confirm the Data: This will take you to the Confirm Screen/page asking you to check all the basic information data provided by you. If you are satisfied, you can proceed by clicking OK if not please click cancel button and make the necessary correction. Once you click "SUBMIT" button, you will not be able to make any further changes in the "Basic Information Page" If everything is correct please check the box indicating that “I have checked all the basic information provided by me and is correct” and then click the "SUBMIT" button

• Exam Centre and Programme Details Page: This will take you to the exam center and programme details page.

a. Select your choice of exam center in the order of preference ( you have three choice)

b. Select the appropriate State /UT against which you are seeking admission. As a proof of eligibility of State/ UT for admission the candidate has to produce any one of the following documents:

i. Evidence of having passed the qualifying examination from the State/ UT as given in the advertisement.

ii. In case of legal guardian / parents is an employee of State/ Central Govt./ Govt. of India undertaking/ Autonomous bodies the latest certificate of place of posting in the State/ UT

iii. A domicile certificate from the competent authority.

Candidates need to fill any one of the choices (a), (b) or (c).

Declaration of Result:
a. The result of B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed. programmes will be declared on 4th July 2018
b. The result of B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed./M.Ed. programme will be declared on 19th July 2018
