The Google Science Fair is a global online science and engineering competition open to individuals and teams from ages 13 to 18. Submit a science or engineering project and win unbelievable prizes.

How to Participate

You should have a Google account to register for the competition

Eligibility:
Competition is open to individuals born between 21 February 1997 and 17 May 2003 (inclusive). No
individual can register for or enter the Competition until they turn 13. If an Entrant turns 19 during
submission period they will not be disqualified. All Entrants must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enter this Competition. Sponsor reserves the right to verify an individual’s eligibility to participate in the Competition.

How to Enter the Competition:
To enter: Submit one (1) Entry either as an individual or as part of a group (“Team”) comprised of up to three (3) persons.

ENTERING THE COMPETITION AS AN INDIVIDUAL:
● If you don’t have one already, sign up for a Google Account: To register for a Google account, go
to https://accounts.google.com/NewAccount and follow the instructions provided.
● Once you have a Google account, go to http://googlesciencefair.com and register. You will be
asked to input your Google account, email address and password.
● You will then be taken to your Project Dashboard. Whenever you log in using your Google
account details at http://www.googlesciencefair.com, you will arrive on the competition page
where you can enter and review your registration information, request parental or legal guardian
consent, create, edit and submit your final Entry

Grand Prize

The Grand Prize winner will receive $50,000 in scholarship funding.

The $50,000 Google scholarship is intended to further the Grand Prize winner’s education. If a team wins the prize, the scholarship’s value will be divided equally among the teammates.

The Scientific American Innovator Award

The Scientific American Innovator award honors an outstanding project with an experimental approach to answering some of the greatest questions in our natural world.

The winner will receive:

$15,000 educational scholarship.
A year-long mentorship.

The National Geographic Explorer Award

The National Geographic Explorer Award honors an outstanding project with an experimental approach to answering some of the greatest questions in our natural world.

$15,000 educational scholarship.
A year-long mentorship.
